What is Do it 4 Real?

Do it 4 Real is an amazing opportunity for young people aged 10 - 16 to meet new people, try exciting activities and most importantly have fun with a week of action and adventure at a summer camp.

How long is camp?

Summer camp lasts for 5 nights. You arrive on a Sunday afternoon and leave the following Friday morning. This gives you 4 fun-filled days of action and adventure to enjoy yourself.

Who will be responsible for me at camp?

Our Do it 4 Real Team Leaders will look after you and by the end of camp, they'll just be more friends you have made at camp. There will also be fully qualified coaches and instructors to run your activities.

What if I have a problem at camp?

It is unlikely you will have a problem at camp but just in case you do you can talk to your Team Leader who will help. If this does not resolve the problem you can talk to your Head Team Leader.

What will I need to bring to camp?

A list of what you need to bring will be sent to you before you leave for camp. If you are going to a camp where specialist equipment is required you will be provided with this.

Can I go with friends?

You can go with up to 3 friends but you must send your applications together in the same envelope. If you are worried about not knowing anybody, don’t be, camp is great for making new friends. Our Team Leaders will help you get to know everyone. By the end of the week your new friends will be your best mates.

Can my parents visit me at camp?

There is no point in your parents visiting you at camp because you’ll be too busy cramming in all the fun. However payphones are available for you to call home if you want to.

Will I need pocket money while I’m at camp?

Everything is included at camp so you don’t need to bring lots of money. The only thing you are likely to buy at camp is sweets and ice cream. Some camps include visits to theme parks, cinema or bowling where you may want to buy something. We recommend you bring about £10.

Is there anything else I need to bring?

No, not really but remember not to bring anything you wouldn’t want to get dirty, broken or lost. Items such as mobile phones, MP3's, watches, jewellery, hand-held computer games and personal stereos should be left at home. Even clothes you do not want to be lost or ruined. We cannot take responsibility for damage to or the loss of any personal property.

Are there any rules and regulations at camp?

Yes, but these are purely for your own health and safety and to help you enjoy your summer camp. Your Team Leaders will tell you about any site specific rules and regulations when you arrive at camp.

What does the cost include?

Do it 4 Real Summer Camps offer great value for a 5 night/4 day camp including food, accommodation, expert instruction, activities and excursions.

If I went to camp last year can I come again?

Yes of course, it will be great to see you, but book early, as places will fill up fast.

How do I get to camp?

You can get to camp on one of our coaches, which leave from 23 departure points across England. You can make your own way to camp, but let us know by ticking the relevant box on the application form.

Who will be at the camps?

Boys and girls age 10 - 16. Some camps have specific age ranges on certain weeks – check the details on the individual camp pages.

If I have a disability can I still go to camp?

Yes, of course. Depending on your needs, some of our camps are more appropriate than others. Please call, so we can place you where you will get the most out of your summer camp experience and discuss whether it is necessary for a carer to accompany you at camp.
