Once you have downloaded, completed and returned the main Application Form and Supplementary Information Form, we will use the information from both forms to complete a holistic assessment, identifying specific needs of individual applicants and their suitability for camp. A member of our referral team will telephone you and other relevant contacts to discuss the young person’s application. In the mean time, a provisional place will be reserved at camp.
If the application is not accepted at the assessment stage, it will be referred to a panel for further evaluation and a final decision. If the panel decide not to accept the young person onto camp you will be notified in writing, highlighting the reasons for this.
If the young person is accepted on camp, you will receive written confirmation.
Applicant suitability
Individual suitability for camp is covered in more depth in the terms and conditions section of the Do it 4 Real brochure. Please note that Do It 4 Real camps are not suitable for young people or parents/guardians seeking respite care or where a high level of individual support is required. The information provided during the assessment process will be shared with the relevant staff at camp whose responsibility it is to care for the young person.
Who should complete the forms?
If you are a Foster Carer, we require the case holding social worker assigned to the young person to complete the Supplementary Information Form and sign or countersign the Do it 4 Real agreement on the back page of the main Application Form. However, please ensure that your contact details are entered in the parent/guardian section of the main application form.
Do it 4 Real summer camps are very popular and places are filled quickly. We advise you to return the two completed forms as soon as possible!
